Midnight madness and Kindlefest!

Last Sunday, while on the way to No Thai, I walked through the Framers' Market space as the workers were putting up the holiday lights.  I had a small flashback to the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria, where we were last year during this time.

We had a fabulous vacation-- cruising on the Danube with family and friends-- but this year I am excited to be in Ann Arbor for Kindlefest.

The weather is calling for temperatures around freezing, with light snow.  Perfect!  I have read about plans for hot mulled wine, brats, wine tasting, caroling, a Klezmer band, s'mores, and great deals in the shops.   It all sounds like it is right in the spirit for the Christmas markets of Europe, and I can't wait to see it!

Check out this link to AnnArbor.com for a great description of all the festivities in Kerrytown, Main Street and State Street.

Midnight madness

At the same time, and extending until midnight, will be midnight madness, which sounds like another great party.  Participating shops will have special sales going on, Santa will be strolling the streets, and there will be world class sidewalk entertainment, including the U-M Women's Glee Club.  Check out this link to the Main Street Area Association site for a big list of participating vendors and their deals.

So join us in celebrating this Friday night by enjoying Ann Arbor during this beautiful and festive time.
